The current research activity is part of the discipline called Space Weather. In particular, it is focused on the study of the dynamics of the Earth’s plasmasphere in response to the solar variability, and on its interaction with the ionosphere. These studies are conducted through remote sensing of the magnetospheric plasma mass density from the analysis of ULF (1 mHz-1 Hz) magnetic signals recorded at a dense network of magnetometer stations extending from Italy to Finland. It is also  investigated the plasma ion composition using in situ measurements of the electron density obtained from magnetospheric satellites.
